Fictional blog following three friends as they venture out after high school.
If you’re anything like us, leaving your hometown for the first time to attend college, is a scary, yet exciting opportunity. We come from Northern Pine, MN, a relatively small town located in cabin country. Our 2024 high school graduating class consisted of 200 students that we have known for our whole lives. As in any high school, cliques defined us and made it difficult to grow. We were never the popular kids in school, but we weren’t invisible either. We were just us.
So who are we? We are Kylie, Amber, and Sarah; three best friends who have been inseparable. Our level of life experiences have been sheltered by our lack of status within Northern Pine High. While many of our classmates were off getting into trouble or partying, we stayed at home and daydreamed about college, where we could finally get a chance to redefine ourselves and finally get boyfriends.
While we don’t like to admit it, because it seems so rare nowadays, all of us still have yet to kiss a boy. Let alone do anything else. We spent so much time in our tight knit circle, that we were scared to venture out. In our town, if you expressed interest in someone and they shot you down, everyone would know about it and your name would be the talk of the school for weeks on end. So, it was easier not to venture far from our bubble. Unfortunately, that meant that we would all be entering college naive and innocent. We are excited to see how our world grows and changes before our eyes. So we don’t forget, we decided why not start a blog; that way, you can follow along with our journey and discover life alongside of us.
We can’t wait for each and everyone of you to join our friend group and see the world through our eyes!
Sincerely, Kylie, Amber, and Sarah
Growing up as an only child, Amber has always had things easy. However, college is about to prove to her that you have to be responsible for your own actions and your parents can’t always be there to bail you out.
Sarah grew up in a household where both of her parents worked shift work, which meant she had to learn to be self sufficient at an early age. Sarah believes it is these experiences that have prepared her for college and she can’t wait to show her parents that she is ready for this new adventure.
